- The Path Back to Your Body -
I help you recover from chronic stress, regulate your nervous system, and restore balance between your body and mind.
My Mission
Are You Constantly Feeling Stressed, Exhausted, or Like Your Body Never Truly Recovers?
Does this sound familiar?
My mission is to help you recover from chronic stress and find your way back to a strong connection with your body.
Through my work, I support nervous system regulation, strengthen your connection with your body, and help you reconnect with your inner resources. I believe every person has an innate capacity for balance and well-being. Sometimes all it takes is a safe, supportive space and the right guidance for that capacity to emerge.
Who Am I?
I hold a Master's degree in Social Sciences and am a certified massage therapist with extensive training in somatic approaches and nervous system well-being. I specialize in helping people recover from chronic stress and supporting healthy nervous system regulation.
My academic background in social psychology and psychology has given me a deep understanding of human behaviour, relationships, and the way the mind works. Over the years, I have also completed extensive studies in somatic practices, body-based approaches, and nervous system functioning, while working with clients in private practice since 2019.
My work brings together scientific knowledge, body-based expertise, and years of practical experience. I view well-being as a whole, where the body, nervous system, and mind are continuously influencing one another.
Why Is This Work So Important to Me?
My work is deeply personal.
I have walked the path from chronic stress and a constant state of survival to a more balanced, grounded, and peaceful life.
That experience taught me that lasting change doesn't come through forcing ourselves to do more. It begins by listening to the body, regulating the nervous system, and rebuilding a connection with ourselves—one step at a time.
If you're ready for change, I'd be honoured to walk alongside you on your journey.
Somatic treatment
Somatic treatment focuses on restoring balance between the body and mind. It aims to identify and correct postural imbalances and release muscle tension, which may result from stress or previous injuries. The therapy helps balance the autonomic nervous system, which controls the body's stress responses and recovery.
When your nervous system is balanced, your body can function more efficiently and flexibly, activating your self-healing resources and reducing stress. This allows you to have more energy and resources to focus on well-being and the challenges of daily life. Somatic treatment can thus support long-term physical and mental health.
The therapy form is based on the idea that the human body should be aligned, open, and receptive for energy to flow in an optimal way. When energy flows as it should, the body remains open, and a person stays healthy and happy.
The natural flow of the body can be blocked by difficult emotions, chronic stress, the state of the nervous system, traumatic events, mental challenges, inactivity, hereditary postural imbalances, excessive physical strain, as well as various aches, pains, and inflammatory conditions. When the body's flow is obstructed, the nervous system enters a state of stress and imbalance, which can also disturb hormone function and other important bodily systems. By releasing tension and blockages in the body and calming and balancing the nervous system, the body starts to open, cleanse, and heal itself. As a result, the body becomes balanced, softens, and begins to function as it is meant to.
During the treatment, I will touch and gently move your body at various points to allow the accumulated energy to flow. The therapy is a holistic physical treatment that aims to impact different layers and systems of the body, such as muscles, fascia, the lymphatic system, and hormone function, among others. The primary goal of the treatment is to reduce the body's chronic stress and return the nervous system to a parasympathetic state, where healing, renewal, rest, and recovery take place. The therapy can also help uncover and release limiting beliefs, identities, and harmful patterns, as well as create new, supportive neural connections. A person can recreate themselves once they find the right tools to do so.

Woman, 31.
“I have been visiting Christel for a few months now, seeking support during life’s transitions. I suffered from depression and anxiety for a long time, and I can honestly say that I would have greatly benefited from this kind of honest conversation-based help earlier. I went through psychotherapy for several years, but it feels like it didn’t provide me with the same tools Christel has already given me in such a short time. Christel’s encouraging straightforwardness and professionalism force you to look in the mirror and face your painful spots, while offering new perspectives through positivity. This allows you to realize the right solution for yourself. She does all of this with empathetic and uplifting energy, always taking into account the client’s needs in the moment. After our sessions, I always feel hopeful and with a new ability to look ahead, something I have never experienced before. I wish there were more helpers like her!
I recommend Christel to anyone who wants to develop themselves in any way, no matter what problem you may be facing in life :)”
Woman, 33
“Christel’s body therapy is truly impactful—the treatment takes place through the body, but it really touched my being all the way to my soul. Christel is an amazing therapist and, above all, an incredible healer. It’s easy to relax in her presence; she is sensitive and knows how to respect the client’s own sensitivity. The treatment felt very gentle yet incredibly powerful at the same time—I can't recommend her enough! The best mind-body-heart healer I’ve ever seen!”
One to One Guidance
My one-to-one guidance offers a safe, supportive, and confidential space where you can slow down, gain clarity, and reconnect with yourself.
Together, we explore the patterns, challenges, and experiences that may be contributing to stress, overwhelm, or a sense of disconnection. The focus is not only on understanding what is happening but also on supporting your nervous system, strengthening your connection with your body, and creating sustainable change in your daily life.
My approach combines evidence-informed knowledge of social psychology, nervous system regulation, and somatic practices with years of practical experience working with individuals. Each session is tailored to your unique needs, and our work together may include reflective conversation, body awareness, breathing techniques, mindfulness practices, guided exercises, and other nervous system-regulating methods when appropriate.
My role is to provide a safe environment where you feel heard and supported while offering practical tools that help you better understand yourself, regulate stress, and build greater resilience. Rather than focusing solely on symptoms, we work with the underlying patterns that influence your overall well-being.
Our work together always begins with an initial consultation, where we explore your current situation, your goals, and what kind of support would be most beneficial for you. Based on this, we create an individual plan that suits your needs and pace.
Sessions are available both in person at my practice in Helsinki and online via Zoom.
For lasting change, I generally recommend committing to a series of sessions. Creating new patterns, restoring nervous system balance, and strengthening your connection with your body is a process that develops over time. Ongoing support allows us to work at a pace that feels safe, sustainable, and meaningful.
I work with adults experiencing a wide range of challenges, including chronic stress, nervous system dysregulation, burnout, anxiety, emotional overwhelm, difficulties recovering from stress, relationship challenges, life transitions, and a sense of feeling disconnected from themselves.
Since 2019, I have supported hundreds of clients in Finland and internationally on their journey towards greater balance, resilience, and well-being. If you're looking for a compassionate, body-oriented, and practical approach to navigating life's challenges, I would be honoured to support you.

My story & Approach
Discovering a Different Way
My recovery began with psychotherapy, which helped me better understand myself, process difficult experiences, and put words to emotions I had carried for years. It gave me valuable insight and an important foundation for healing.
As my journey continued, I realised that understanding my experiences intellectually was only one part of the process. My body was still carrying chronic tension, stress, and patterns that talking alone could not fully address.
This led me to explore somatic practices, nervous system regulation, breathwork, mindfulness, and body-oriented approaches. Gradually, I learned how deeply the body and nervous system influence our emotional well-being, our sense of safety, and our ability to recover.
Through this work, I experienced meaningful and lasting change—not because I found a quick solution, but because I learned to listen to my body, regulate my nervous system, and rebuild trust in myself.
My Approach Today
Today, everything I have learned—through academic study, professional training, clinical practice, and personal experience—forms the foundation of my work.
I believe recovery is not about fixing yourself. It is about understanding yourself with greater compassion, supporting your nervous system, and creating the conditions in which your body and mind can naturally move towards balance.
Every person has their own story, which is why I never believe in one-size-fits-all solutions. My role is to provide a safe, supportive space where you can better understand yourself, strengthen your connection with your body, and develop practical tools that support lasting well-being.
If you're feeling overwhelmed, exhausted, disconnected from yourself, or simply longing for a different way of living, I'd be honoured to support you on your journey.
My work is built on a combination of professional expertise, scientific understanding, and lived experience.

Why This Work Matters to Me
My professional path is also deeply personal.
Years ago, I experienced severe burnout after spending much of my life constantly striving, performing, and pushing myself beyond my limits. I had become disconnected from my body's signals and didn't understand what true recovery meant.
Eventually, years of chronic stress caught up with me. My body could no longer keep up with the pace I had demanded of it. I struggled with exhaustion, anxiety, depression, hormonal imbalance, hypothyroidism, digestive issues, and persistent stress. Looking back, I can see that my nervous system had been in survival mode for years.
For the first time, I had no choice but to stop.
That experience led me to ask questions I had never asked before. Why did I constantly feel the need to achieve? Why was slowing down so uncomfortable? Why had I learned to ignore my own needs for so long?
Those questions became the beginning of a profound personal and professional journey.
